It is a cable that embodies over 47 years of British brand QED engineering experience in the development of audiophile conductors, and adapts the company's proprietary developments in the field of speaker cables to the tasks of powering sensitive Hi-Fi equipment.
At the heart of the QED XT3 is QED’s proprietary X-Tube technology, a specially adapted version of the solution used in QED’s speaker cables. The live and neutral conductors are braided, deliberately thin enough to avoid eddy currents from adjacent conductors, a phenomenon that typically causes proximity effects and adds parasitic distortion to the power supply.
This effectively isolates the conductors from each other, and the calculated pitch of the conductors ensures that no two conductors are more than a few millimeters apart in a parallel configuration. The result is a uniform, stable current flow at all frequencies, without impedance modulation, which can make an amplifier sound glassy and harsh, drain its dynamics and weaken its bass response.
Individual core bundles in the QED XT3 are individually insulated with K130 PVC material, which controls the cable capacitance and provides a level of electrical insulation that meets international safety standards. The entire structure is additionally assembled on a hollow LDPE core, which controls the cable inductance. This approach allows the QED XT3 not only to "conduct" current, but to do it as predictably and stably as possible - exactly what sensitive analog and digital electronics need.
A high-quality network cable is not a marketing myth, but a real element of the circuit through which all the energy for your amplifier, player or DAC passes. QED XT3 reduces the level of electrical noise and interference from neighboring devices in the network, which in practice means a "quieter" background, clearer details and more natural dynamics - especially noticeable on mid- and high-level systems, where each link affects the final result.
