Description
The Pro-Ject X2 B vinyl turntable is based on the new proprietary True Balanced Connection concept. It involves the use of a balanced connection signal from the turntable. It offers a significant advantage over a conventional connection in terms of signal protection against interference. To make the X2 B as versatile as possible, it is equipped with an unbalanced output on RCA connectors.
Product information
The turntable is built on a massive MDF chassis and the total weight of the model is 10 kg. The eight-layer chassis coating provides additional vibration damping and is resistant to damage. The turntable is mounted on damped aluminum feet with height adjustment for precise horizontal alignment. Pro-Ject X2 B is supplied with a 30 mm thick acrylic platter weighing 2 kg. The mechanical properties of acrylic allow the plate to be placed on the disk without an additional damping mat. The model uses a belt drive through the subdisk. The motor is completely mechanically decoupled from the chassis, which makes the turntable almost silent. It is equipped with an electronic turntable speed switch for 33 1/3 or 45 rpm, and a 78 rpm speed can be achieved by repositioning the platter.
The turntable is equipped with a proprietary 9-inch-long tonearm with integrated shell. The tonearm tube is a combination of aluminum and carbon fiber. The combination of these materials ensures good vibration damping while keeping the whole structure lightweight. The tonearm is mounted on a precision gimbal bearing. The model has the ability to adjust the azimuth and VTA angles. This provides good flexibility in mounting different cartridges on the X2 B. The tonearm counterweight is damped with TPE polymer for additional vibration damping.
The model is equipped with Ortofon's Quintet Red MC pickup as standard. The package includes a dust cover and a branded Phono case.
