Description
The Pro-Ject X2 B vinyl player is made in the new proprietary True Balanced Connection concept. It involves the use of signal transmission from the player with a balanced connection. It gives a significant advantage over a conventional connection in terms of signal protection from interference. To make the X2 B model as versatile as possible, it is equipped with an unbalanced output on RCA connectors.
The turntable is made on a solid MDF chassis, and the total weight of the model is 10 kg. The eight-layer chassis coating provides additional vibration damping and is resistant to damage. The turntable is mounted on damped aluminum supports with adjustable height for precise horizontal alignment. The Pro-Ject X2 B is equipped with an acrylic support disc 30 mm thick and weighing 2 kg. The mechanical properties of acrylic allow you to install a record on a disc without an additional damping mat. The model uses a belt drive through a sub-disk. The engine is completely mechanically decoupled from the chassis, thanks to which the turntable operates almost silently. It is equipped with an electronic switch for the record rotation speed of 33 1/3 or 45 rpm, and a speed of 78 rpm can be obtained by rearranging the belt.
The turntable is equipped with a proprietary 9-inch tonearm with an integrated shell. The tonearm tube is combined, it is made of aluminum and carbon. The combination of these materials provided good vibration damping with a low weight of the entire structure. The tonearm is mounted on a precision gimbal-type bearing. The model provides the ability to adjust the azimuth and VTA angles. This provides good flexibility in installing different cartridges on the X2 B. The tonearm counterweight is damped using TPE polymer for additional vibration damping.
The model is standardly installed with an Ortofon Quintet Red MC cartridge. The delivery includes a dust cover and a proprietary Connect It E phono cable.
