VTA It
Description
Replacing a stylus or upgrading a platter seems like a small thing — until it turns out that a new cartridge or thicker mat has shifted the tonearm geometry, and the sound has lost the clarity it once had. The VTA it solves exactly this problem: a small but fundamental accessory from Pro-Ject that returns the tonearm to the correct angle of attack of the stylus relative to the record.
The VTA it is a 1.5mm spacer that fits under the base of the tonearm and allows you to precisely adjust the vertical tracking angle (VTA). This becomes especially relevant when you switch to an upgraded platter, a thicker mat (e.g. Cork it) or a new cartridge with a different body height - all these changes affect the angle at which the needle contacts the groove, and therefore the accuracy of sound reproduction.
The VTA it is compatible with the Debut I-III, Debut Carbon, Debut Carbon EVO, Debut EVO 2 and Essential I-III tonearms (only in standard configurations).
For installation, you will need a Philips #1 Phillips screwdriver and a 5.5mm socket wrench. The manufacturer emphasizes: installation of the VTA it should be performed by an experienced technician - self-installation by an untrained person may void the warranty.
