Connect it Phono DS RCA/MiniXLR 1,23m
Description
The cable is the last link between the player and the phono stage, and it is here that it is easiest to lose what was saved thanks to high-quality mechanics and a stylus. Connect it Phono DS RCA/MiniXLR series is Pro-Ject's answer to the question of what a cable should be for a real analog path: the right conductor material, the right shielding, the right connectors.
The conductor is 99.99% pure OFC (oxygen-free copper), with a cross section of 2 × 0.2 mm². Flexible cellular polyethylene with a minimum dielectric constant is used as a dielectric - this directly affects the cable capacitance. At a length of 1.23 m, the capacitance is only 90 pF, which is a critically important indicator for background applications: low capacitance preserves frequency balance and details in the upper range.
The screen is made in the form of a spiral of OFC copper with a conductive carbon sublayer - the so-called conductive sub-jacket. This approach provides effective removal of interference and interference, and at the same time maintains the flexibility of the cable, unlike rigid foil screens.
All DS series connectors are equipped with silver-plated signal contacts. Silver has a higher electrical conductivity and the lowest contact resistance compared to gold. Over time, silver can tarnish - but silver oxide is as conductive as silver itself, so this is purely an aesthetic issue. The outer sheath of the cable is made of thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) - durable, flexible, pleasant to the touch.
The RCA/MiniXLR option is designed to connect a phono equalizer with a balanced MiniXLR input (for example, Phono Box DS3 B) to a player with an RCA output. This allows you to use the True Balanced Connection concept from Pro-Ject and get the benefits of a balanced signal path - reduced noise, ground loop breaking and better isolation between channels. For full operation in balanced mode, the player must be equipped with an MC cartridge or Pick it PRO Balanced.
