Surprisingly, Pro-Ject's extensive catalog has not yet included a fully automatic turntable. The gap was filled only recently - the first such model was the Pro-Ject Automat A1. This device itself will smoothly lower the needle to the first (or chosen by the listener) track, and after listening, it will smoothly raise the tonearm and return it to the stand.

It is especially emphasized that during the playback itself, the automation is completely turned off and does not affect the sound in any way. It is also noted that no preparation of the player for work is required.

The Ortofon OM10 MM cartridge with a lightweight 8.3" aluminum tonearm is factory-installed. The geometry, mass and anti-skating level are also configured there. In short, "turned on - it works."

Pro-Ject claims that the novelty is handmade in Germany.

For example, an aluminum disc is stamped, bent and perforated, and then goes through the process of phosphating and degreasing in another production. It then gets an internal damping ring to increase mass and reduce resonances. After that, there is a balancing operation and, finally, painting in the only black color possible for the model. The disk is supplemented with a complete felt mat.

The built-in switchable MM phono stage allows you to connect the Automat A1 directly to the line input of the amplifier - RCA cables Pro-Ject Connect It E are also provided for this.

The player is designed in standard "rack" sizes. The case is protected from vibrations by four legs with silicone damping. There is also dust protection - the usual plastic cover.
