The Polk Audio S15 E bookshelf speaker system occupies a middle position among models of this class in its line. This speaker can be successfully used for stereo sets in small rooms and in the rear channels of home theaters. Polk Audio S15 E have damped cabinets made of selected MDF, the walls of which do not resonate even with high power input. The edges of the Polk Audio S15 E cabinet are rounded to give the speakers a more attractive appearance. The acoustics are equipped with a protective mesh with magnetic fixation, and can have an external finish in black or white.

Polk Audio S15 E has a high-quality design, which is made in accordance with the proprietary Dynamic Balance concept. The speakers are equipped with a 5.25-inch woofer with a polypropylene and mica cone. This combination results in a rigid and lightweight structure that allows the woofer to produce significant sound pressure without audible distortion. The diffuser is mounted on a butyl rubber suspension, which has good elasticity with high strength and reliability. The woofer is equipped with a powerful magnet and mounted on a non-resonating massive basket. The woofer is loaded onto a patented Power Port bass reflex, the output hole of which is located on the rear panel. Thanks to its special design, this bass reflex does not create acoustic noise and works very efficiently.

Like other models in this series, the Polk Audio S15 E is equipped with a 1-inch diameter terylene dome tweeter. This material has excellent acoustic characteristics and such tweeters are used for the first time in acoustics in an affordable price category. To form the necessary polar pattern and increase the operating efficiency of the Polk Audio S15 E, the tweeter is placed in a round sound guide of small depth.

In acoustics, crossover filters are used using selected components that have minimal phase-frequency distortion. A pair of universal screw terminals with gold-plated contacts is provided for connection to the amplifier.
