The built-in ESS Technology 32-bit DAC in the channel input section and the same brand DAC in the master and booth output sections create crystal-clear, natural sound both on the dance floor and in the DJ booth. According to the review by The DJ Hookup, the A9’s audio circuitry is inherited from the flagship DJM-V10, which costs significantly more.
The third generation of the MAGVEL FADER crossfader provides fast and stable scratching, and the channel faders have become even smoother compared to the previous model. The Sound Color FX controls have received the world’s first Center Lock function — the button stops in the central position, which allows you to quickly turn it to the maximum hi or minimum low parameter without the risk of slipping to the opposite side.
For the first time in DJ mixers, phantom power allows you to connect a high-quality condenser microphone directly to the DJM-A9. Three new microphone effects (Echo, Pitch, Megaphone) and a separate reverb effect have been added, and a Push To Talk button gives you quick control over the microphone input.
The mixer is equipped with dual USB Type-B and USB Type-C ports (two of each type) for connecting two computers simultaneously - ideal for back-to-back sets. Bluetooth input allows you to wirelessly play tracks from smartphones on any channel with full access to all the mixer's effects.
A total of 14 Beat FX are available, including three new ones: Mobius, Triplet Filter and Triplet Roll. Controlling the effects has become more intuitive thanks to the new color display and the updated X-Pad, located horizontally for convenient side-to-side swipes with your finger.
