The French company NorStone has released a new rack for HI-FI equipment: Bergen2.
The previous version of these racks was well received by consumers, and it remained a bestseller for a long time. But nothing in the world stands still. Over time, the requirements for this type of rack have increased both in terms of structural rigidity and vertical stability. To confirm its leadership in this segment of the HI-FI rack market, NorStone introduced this series.
While retaining the general concept, the technical component of the rack has been significantly redesigned. The metal profile of the legs has been reinforced. The number of legs remained the same, but thicker (8 mm instead of 6 mm in the old version) tempered glass was used. The glass is the basis for fastening the three legs by means of a threaded connection through polyethylene washers, which not only protect the glass from scratches but also have vibration isolation properties. Each shelf of the rack, as before, rests on the previous shelf with its spikes.
The lower shelf can withstand a load of up to 40 kg, which practically does not limit the consumer in purchasing very heavy HI-FI components. As a result of the measures taken, the total weight of the rack has increased by almost 40%, which indicates a more than serious approach of the developers. As always, great attention was paid to the appearance and quality of the finish. The color finish of the rack: black glossy coating of the metal parts of the rack and black lacquered tempered glass of the shelves themselves. Thanks to its classic appearance,
Bergen2 can fit into both modern and retro interiors.
The rack attracts attention and emphasizes the solidity of the HI-FI components located on it. The Bergen series also includes a stand for AV equipment, both of which are made in a single style design - Bergen_AV2. The top shelf of the AV stand can comfortably accommodate a large diagonal flat-panel TV weighing up to 80 kg. The lower shelves can be used to place home theater devices: DVD player, Blu-ray player, processor, multi-channel speaker or receiver.
