The NAD C658 is a Hi-Fi combo device that can perform multiple functions at once. At its core, this device is a preamplifier, which is also equipped with a built-in DAC and BluOS streaming platform. However, the NAD C658 also has some additional features that make it stand out from its competitors.

The preamplifier is made from selected components using proprietary design solutions, and can be upgraded by installing two additional modules. In its basic configuration, the NAD C658 features two line inputs and an MM pickup input, while the built-in phono preamp provides high-quality sound. To connect to an amplifier, you can use balanced and unbalanced adjustable outputs, and in addition, the NAD C658 also provides two subwoofer outputs.

The DAC in this model is based on a 32-bit ESS Saber chip and has optical and coaxial inputs. This model uses a precision digital volume control similar to that found in Masters Series models, resulting in the length of the analog circuits in the preamplifier being minimized. One of the interesting features of the NAD C658 is its use of the Dirac Live automatic sound correction system depending on listening conditions. By using this technology, it is possible to achieve the best integration of acoustic sound (including in 2.1 sets), so that the stereo image fills the entire listening room, and the speakers themselves are not localized in it as a sound source. The preamp has a built-in headphone amplifier with enough power to handle models with varying impedances.

An important advantage of the NAD C658 is its support for BluOS streaming technology, with a network connection via Ethernet or Wi-Fi. The system can be controlled using a proprietary application, and the device can play music from popular online services or network devices, with support for High Resolution audio (up to 24 bit / 192 kHz), as well as MQA and DSD formats. In addition, you can connect Bluetooth devices to the preamplifier, not only for streaming music from portable devices, but also for transmitting a signal to wireless headphones. Playback of USB drives with audio files is also available
