The MoFi SourcePoint V10 Master Edition is more than just a speaker system, it’s a bid for a place in the top echelon of Hi-Fi. Designed by legendary engineer Andrew Jones, this model embodies the Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab philosophy in physical form: studio-grade monitoring accuracy combined with the scale and energy to fill even a large room with sound.
The design is based on a three-way architecture with a concentric driver in the center: a 1.25-inch fabric tweeter is located exactly in the throat of a 10-inch paper midrange speaker. This approach provides perfect timing of mid and high frequencies and a precise, focused stage. Two additional 10-inch woofers and two 10-inch passive radiators are responsible for low frequencies, freeing the concentric assembly from the load in the lowest range. All bass drivers are built according to the Twin Drive scheme with oppositely oriented magnets - this reduces distortion and gives a tight, controlled bass, audible down to 27 Hz.
Each pair of "speaker - passive radiator" is placed in a separate acoustically isolated chamber inside a rigid enclosure with a closed type of loading without a phase inverter. A multi-faceted front panel with beveled surfaces around each driver reduces diffraction and unwanted reflections, providing a wide and even sound dispersion. The crossover is assembled on two separate boards from audiophile-grade components — film polypropylene capacitors, metal film resistors and air-core coils — and a switch on the rear panel allows you to adjust the level of high frequencies to the acoustics of the room.
The speakers are covered with natural wood veneer — walnut or black ash — which gives them the status of real furniture for a living room or a dedicated Hi-Fi room. 91 dB sensitivity allows you to match the SourcePoint V10 Master Edition with a wide range of amplifiers, and the scale of the sound reveals itself to the fullest extent both on chamber acoustic music and on powerful rock or orchestral material.
