As with the flagship 770s, Mission has developed a new polypropylene woofer/midrange driver and magnet system specific to this particular model. Not only does this driver improve the overall speaker design to meet today's power handling and dynamics requirements, but it also retains the extended frequency response and low coloration of the original model with all the hallmarks of class-leading speakers. From the rigid die-cast chassis to the low-density diffuser suspension, every aspect has been revised to provide the driver with improved strength and precise control of diaphragm movement – resulting in high dynamic performance and a fast, composed and energetic sound.
The prominent front-panel phase-inverter port has been carefully profiled both internally and externally to achieve very low distortion and extend the room's bass range below 38Hz – a real achievement for an enclosure of this size.

Using a new lightweight microfiber cloth dome with a tweeter coating, the Mission 700 echoes the flagship 770s, right down to the specially damped rear chamber that delivers ultra-smooth high frequencies – thanks in large part to the design's control of resonances.

The new 700 body uses a multi-layered construction of different woods, joined by a layer of damping glue. Internal reinforcement provides added strength and support, while a blend of foam and long fiber provides internal resonance and echo absorption.
