Product information
The preamplifier section is powered by tubes: a pair of 12AX7A and a pair of 12AT7. However, the output stage uses semiconductor components, which allowed the new product to deliver 200 W per channel through 8-ohm loudspeakers or 320 W per channel through 4 ohms. The MA352 features many McIntosh proprietary solutions and technologies, including Power Guard, Sentry Monitor, and McIntosh Monogrammed Heatsinks.
There is a High Drive headphone amplifier with Crossfeed Director function, a 5-band analog equalizer with ±12 dB depth of adjustment for each band, and a pass-through input-output for connecting home theater systems. There is also a preamplifier line output for connecting an alternative final amplifier or subwoofers. The MA352 is equipped with two balanced and three unbalanced inputs, not including the input for MM cartridges with adjustable load. The amplifier also has gold-plated speaker cable terminals.
All of this is mounted in a stainless steel case, polished to a mirror finish. Traditionally for the brand's products, the eye on MA352 will immediately be drawn to the dual scales of blue power indicators, which provide accurate values for any load impedance. In front of them, you can see the warm glow of the lamps. Massive control knobs, an illuminated logo between the indicators and a black glass front panel with direct LED lighting complete the design of the device.
