The Marantz PM6007 integrated amplifier, which replaced the PM6006 model, received a new digital-to-analog converter. Instead of the Cirrus Logic CS4398 chip, the high-end AK4490 chip is now used, allowing it to accept PCM audio up to 24-bit/192 kHz.
The circuits of the new model are equipped with components specially selected during long test listening sessions and current feedback is used to minimize distortion and expand the frequency range. The output stage is equipped with proprietary HDAM-SA3 discrete amplifier modules, which guarantee a high signal slew rate and low noise level. The Marantz PM6007 power supply contains a well-shielded toroidal transformer with low electromagnetic radiation and a set of high-current capacitors, the size (and, accordingly, the capacity), according to the manufacturer, is increased by 20% compared to the capacitors of its predecessor, and the rectifier uses ultra-fast Schottky diodes . The result is clean power, wide dynamic range, and the ability to easily handle low-impedance loads. The amplifier produces 45 W per channel at 8 ohms and works reliably even with 4 ohm speaker systems.
The amplifier's digital section, which also includes one coaxial and two optical inputs, is housed in a shielded metal case to minimize its impact on the analog circuits. In DAC mode, you can select one of two available digital filters: Filter 1 (slow roll-off) with a soft spectrum cutoff, and Filter 2 (sharp roll-off) with a steeper cutoff.
The Marantz PM6007 amplifier is equipped with a high-quality MM phono stage, the input of which is field-effect transistors. Thanks to this technology, it is possible to provide high input impedance, shorten signal paths, do without sound-degrading coupling capacitors, and minimize noise and distortion.
In addition to digital connectors, the model received four line inputs, a recording output and a subwoofer connector. There is also an IR socket and system bus connectors, and for connecting speakers there are eight screw terminals, with which you can easily organize a two-wire connection. There is a 6.3 mm headphone jack on the front panel. The amplifier remote allows you to control your Marantz CD player.
