The Marantz NR1200 stereo receiver is designed for those music lovers who would like to have a universal system for watching movies and listening to music at home, but for one reason or another would not want to purchase a traditional AV receiver. The Marantz NR1200 features a chassis that's half the height of AV devices, making it easy to fit into a home system. At the same time, the device has a recognizable corporate appearance, and its design is highly reliable.
The Marantz NR1200 is built on a classic integrated amplifier design, using fully discrete circuits and selected components in the most critical stages in terms of sound quality. The output circuits in the stereo receiver have a symmetrical topology, and separate windings of the network transformer are used to power different circuits of the device. You can connect two pairs of speakers to the device, and tone controls are provided to customize the sound character.
At the same time, the capabilities of the Marantz NR1200 go far beyond what we are used to seeing in Hi-Fi devices. The stereo receiver has five HDMI inputs and one output, supporting 4K video and Dolby Vision, which allows you to connect various AV sources, as well as a TV or projector. Also, the Marantz NR1200 model has all modern streaming and wireless technologies, including the proprietary HEOS multi-room system, AirPlay 2, Spotify and popular on-line music services. The stereo receiver also provides Bluetooth for easy connection with portable gadgets and USB for connecting flash drives with music files. After updating the firmware of the stereo receiver, this model will also have the function of transmitting a signal via Bluetooth to wireless headphones.
The Marantz NR1200 model uses an 8-channel AK4458 microcircuit in differential connection, that is, in fact, two DACs are used in each channel of the stereo receiver. This solution made it possible to obtain the best signal-to-noise ratio, reduce distortion and expand the dynamic range of sound. The Marantz NR1200 reproduces audio in High Resolution formats: PCM up to 24 bit / 192 kHz and DSD 5.6 MHz.
