Description
The Black Cube is a classic among phono preamps: since its release in 1995, it has gained cult status among a huge number of recording enthusiasts, causing a media sensation thanks to its compact size and superior sound. Since 2006, the device has been available in a new, significantly improved version.
Do you remember what it was like when you first turned on your favorite record? What detail fascinated you and still does today? The Black Cube allows you to experience your favorite music classics in a new way: thanks to its superior components and sophisticated circuitry, the sound is reproduced accurately and with great power, despite its tiny size.
A wide range of tonal shades and explosive dynamics are the characteristic features of Black Cube. All this is thanks to the high-precision passive RIAA equalizer located between the two linear amplification stages, which is implemented using MKP precision low-loss foil capacitors. High-quality input stages of the latest generation provide low-noise reproduction, which is why they are also used in high-end mixing consoles and microphone preamps. A specially designed power supply provides a large power reserve.
Quality combined with versatility
Thanks to its maximum gain, the Black Cube can accommodate virtually any commonly used pickup system from high-performance MM to MC. The configuration options provide virtually unlimited freedom of choice. A free slot for individual impedance ensures consistent termination even for demanding MC systems. All resistors are made of low-noise metal film. We use only switches with gold-plated contacts for the gain and impedance selection. We have also provided an additional wired connection point on each channel for immediate and direct action without a switch.
Similarly, the versatility of the Black Cube becomes apparent when you install it: you can easily place it very close to the tonearm of your turntable. This is made possible by the cable connecting the power supply to the audio section, as well as by the compact size of this phono preamplifier, which is typical of the entire Black Cube series.
