Product information
Structurally, Klipsch The Fives are a two-way system, where the high-frequency range is sounded by a compression driver loaded on a horn with a Tractrix profile. All other frequencies are served by a mid-bass speaker with a diameter of 13 cm. The front panel is covered with a protective mesh, covered with fabric, reminiscent of classic models of the 1950s. All electronic parts, including power amplifiers, a processor and aptX HD Bluetooth module, are located in one speaker, and the amplified signal is sent to the other. All physical controls are located on the top panel. The input set includes a 3.5mm mini-jack, RCA pair, HDMI ARC, digital optical input and USB port with support for 24/192 signals. When connected via Bluetooth to a smartphone, the user will be able to use a proprietary application to adjust the sound of the speakers.
One of the outstanding features of the new Klipsch The Fives monitors is that you can find not only multiple interfaces for different audio sources, but most of all an HDMI input. It not only has ARC, i.e. Audio Return Channel, but even so-called eARC, i.e. Enhanced Audio Return Channel, so that high-resolution audio can also be transmitted over two channels to the new Klipsch The Fives Powered monitors. In this context, it is important to highlight that the new Klipsch The Fives powered monitors feature DSP-based signal processing for playback up to 24-bit and 192 kHz.
They are driven by a Class D amplifier that delivers a total of 160W, two 60W for the low/mid range drivers and two 20W for the tweeters. The loudspeaker system is designed to display the frequency range from 50 Hz to 25 kHz.
The new Klipsch The Fives Powered monitors are based on an MDF cabinet, giving you a choice of walnut or matte black finishes.
The system dimensions are 304.8 mm high, 165.1 mm wide and 234.9 mm deep. This means the speakers weigh 5.35kg in active mode and another 4.85kg in passive mode.
