2-way, speaker system for home cinema as a bass reflex center channel
The large speaker for the center channel Klipsch RP-504C is part of the prestigious Reference Premiere series of acoustics from this company, and is designed to complete home theater systems of the highest class. The speaker is made in a damped case made of thick MDF of relatively small height (taking into account horizontal placement), which simplifies its placement in standard AV racks. The front panel of the Klipsch RP-504C has a neat chamfer around the edges, which not only gives the speaker a more attractive appearance, but also improves sound dispersion.
To get the most rich sound possible, as well as create a wide picture, the speaker is equipped with four 5.25-inch woofers, which are included in a 1.5-way configuration. The woofers are equipped with patented Cerametallic combination diffusers with a striking outer copper coating, which gives the acoustics a recognizable appearance. The woofers are equipped with powerful magnets, lightweight voice coils of large diameter and mounted on anti-resonance baskets. The bass drivers are loaded with a patented Tractrix bass reflex, the output holes of which are located on the rear panel.
External speakers reproduce sound in the range mainly up to 500 Hz, while the pair located closer to the center - up to 1500 Hz. Above this frequency, a 1-inch titanium dome tweeter is activated, housed in a proprietary Tractrix horn with an updated hybrid geometry. A design feature of the tweeter is the linear movement of the diaphragm due to a special suspension, which makes the sound as clear as possible and free from distortion. The horn load not only provides more efficient operation of the tweeter, which sounds detailed and energetic even at low input power, but also streamlines the polar pattern. This reduces unwanted reflections of sound waves in the listening room, making the sound of the speakers independent of the presence and placement of interior items. The crossover filter in the Klipsch RP-504C is made from selected components and is manually adjusted.
