Reference Premiere RP-500C Walnut
Description
2-way, speaker system for home cinema as a bass reflex center channel
The Klipsch RP-500C center channel speaker is part of the company's prestigious Reference Premiere series and is distinguished by impeccable workmanship and finishing. The speaker is relatively small in size and you can easily find a place for it under a TV or video projector screen. At the same time, thanks to high-quality speakers and a reliable cabinet design, the Klipsch RP-500C easily copes with the sound of large rooms, and it can be used in combination with large floor-standing stereo speakers.
The speaker has a classic configuration with two woofers and a tweeter located between them. The bass drivers in the Klipsch RP-500C are equipped with patented Cerametallic cones (metal diaphragms made of a magnesium-aluminum alloy, coated with ceramic), coated with a layer of copper for additional damping of resonances. The solid surface of the bass drivers with integrated dust caps gives the speakers a neat appearance and eliminates any unwanted overtones. The speakers have powerful magnets and are mounted in die-cast metal baskets.
The tweeter in the Klipsch RP-500C, traditionally for acoustics from this company, is placed in a patented Tractrix horn. The latter has an updated geometry and a square cross-section (opening angles 90 x 90 degrees), which ensures a uniform column diagram in the horizontal and vertical planes. The tweeter dome is made of titanium and mounted on a suspension that ensures its strictly linear movement. Such tweeters were first developed and used by Klipsch in the High-End Palladium series acoustics, where they proved their high quality.
The speaker housing is made of thick MDF and is complemented with internal damping to dampen parasitic vibrations of the walls. On the rear panel of the speaker there is a bass reflex port, the output hole of which is also designed in the form of a Tractrix horn. The front panel is covered with a rigid, acoustically transparent protective mesh. The traditionally high sensitivity of the Klipsch RP-500C speakers will produce convincing sound pressure even when connected to an amplifier with limited output power.
