The Klipsch RP-404C center channel speaker has an increased body width and is designed for use with large screen TVs, as well as projectors. The appearance of this speaker is quite recognizable thanks to the striking woofers with copper-plated diffusers, as well as a horn tweeter. A new design element in the series models was the edging of the speakers in the same color as the speaker cones, which breaks off the mounting screws. However, by placing a protective mesh with magnetic holders on the front panel of the speaker, it can be made as invisible as possible in the interior.
The Klipsch RP-404C body is made of selected MDF and reinforced with internal ties. On the front panel of the speaker there are four branded speakers with a diameter of 4 inches with combined Cerametallic diffusers. Traditionally found in high-end Reference Series speakers, these speakers deliver deep, rich bass without audible distortion. The speakers are connected according to a 1.5-lane scheme in such a way as to ensure the most uniform radiation pattern in the horizontal plane. This way, even for viewers seated further away from the center of the screen, the sound will be closely tied to the action of the film.
There is an HF emitter in the center of the front panel. The titanium dome tweeter on the LTS suspension is housed in an updated Tactrix 90 x 90 degree horn. The horn has a smooth internal shape and is made of a silicone-based composite material, which makes it possible to completely eliminate resonances. The tweeter has a new ventilated housing, which ensures efficient heat dissipation from the voice coil.
The Klipsch RP-404C has a Tractrix bass reflex port, the output of which is located on the rear panel of the case. A pair of gold-plated screw terminals are provided for connection to the amplifier.
To dampen the speaker when placing it in a rack, rubber supports are included in the package. With a relatively low body height, the Klipsch RP-404C reproduces rich and powerful sound, and fits perfectly with any front stereo speakers in this series.
