Product information
Bookshelf speaker systems Klipsch RP-400M are the junior model of this class in the new Reference Premiere series. These compact speakers can be used both in small stereo systems and in the rear channels of home theaters. The speaker has a nice textured exterior finish, and the protective grille is attached using invisible magnetic holders.
Like the rest of the Reference Premiere series, the Klipsch RP-400M features an updated Tractrix horn with a smoother internal shape and silicone coating. The horn houses a 2.54cm titanium dome tweeter with LTS suspension. This is a patented design solution that was first developed for Klipsch high-end Palladium loudspeakers and has proven its effectiveness.
The woofer cone with a diameter of 4 inches has a characteristic copper-colored outer coating, which has become the hallmark of all Klipsch Reference acoustics. In this model, the woofer cone has a combined Cerametallic structure, which ensures its high rigidity and resistance to resonances with low weight. The woofer is mounted on a cast basket and has a powerful magnetic system. It is loaded with a patented Tractrix bass reflex with low acoustic noise level, located on the rear panel. The speakers are connected to a crossover filter made from selected components and tuned to a frequency of 1500 Hz. One pair of screw terminals is provided for connection to the amplifier.
Typically, compact Hi-Fi speakers have low sensitivity, which requires significant power from the amplifier to be supplied to them to obtain a rich sound. But not in the case of the Klipsch RP-400M. These speakers have a sensitivity of 93 dB, making them sound great even with a single-ended tube amplifier. At the same time, the overload reserve, thanks to a reliable crossover filter and proprietary speakers, ensures that the Klipsch RP-400M operates stable even at high supplied power.
