Description

There are some things you can’t just take and make smaller. The Klipschorn, one of the most iconic speakers in American hi-fi history, has lived in the corners of grand halls for decades and has never compromised. But for its 80th anniversary, Klipsch has done the seemingly impossible: translated the Heritage philosophy into a bookshelf speaker form factor. Meet the Klipsch Rebellion, the first Heritage bookshelf speakers inspired by Paul W. Klipsch’s original 1958 H8 design, of which only 16 pairs were made at the time.

Rebellion is not just a “little Heritage.” It is the resuscitation of a specific idea: the H8 model, which Paul Klipsch designed in 1958 and which remained almost unknown - too few copies, too little time. Now this idea has been given a second life with modern engineering and materials. The two-way horn-loaded design remains the same principle: high sensitivity, minimal distortion, dynamics that make the heart jump.

The heart of the Rebellion is the K-702 tweeter mounted on the K-703 Tractrix horn with proprietary Mumps technology. The patented Mumps geometry ensures uniform dispersion in the high frequencies and keeps distortion under control even at high volumes. The K-81-EP woofer - a new development especially for this model - is responsible for deep, controlled bass. At the back of the cabinet is Klipsch's first-ever Tractrix horn port with a figured opening: it provides a cleaner air outlet and minimizes port overtones in the lows.

Like all Heritage speakers, Rebellion is hand-assembled at the Hope, Arkansas factory. The cladding is a natural wood veneer made from paired boards of the same massif, so each Rebellion pair is unique in its texture pattern. Standard finish options: American Walnut, Black Ash, American Auburn and Red Oak. For the brand's 80th anniversary - a limited edition in the Tigerwood finish. Included - a black fabric grille.

Rebellion opens the door to Heritage for listeners who do not have room for a Klipschorn or La Scala. The speakers feel equally natural in a two-channel stereo setup and as part of a Klipsch Heritage home theater. For stationary installation, Klipsch recommends the KS-24 stands - they were developed specifically for this model.
