The KEF R11 META features 4 woofers and the latest generation of proprietary Uni-Q for powerful and refined sound. With hybrid aluminum woofers and the 12th generation Uni-Q proprietary midrange and high frequency module, KEF R11 perfectly captures the subtle nuances of music while delivering powerful and surround sound in the bass.

KEF R11 is the winner of the prestigious EISA award. KEF R11 speakers were named "Best High End Speakers 2019-2020".

The R Series has much more in common with the Reference Series than with the previous generation of R Series. According to the developers themselves, only the name remained from the "old" line, and the number of innovations and improvements exceeded 1000! For the first time, KEF engineers managed to apply so many technological solutions and achieve such high quality reproduction in speakers of this price category.

Incredible 12th generation Uni-Q driver. The design of the new line models is based on the proprietary Uni-Q 12th generation driver, which is equipped with a new motor system to improve the sound at midrange frequencies. In addition, the developers paid great attention to the effect on the sound of the gap between the tweeter and midrange diaphragms of Uni-Q, which should be minimal but can be widened at certain resonant frequencies. The new structure and special damping behind the tweeter eliminate these resonances, resulting in softer, more transparent and more detailed high frequencies.

The design of the phase inverter provides for significant bass without resonant noise. It is well known that the phase inverter acoustic design allows the loudspeaker to reach lower frequencies, but often creates problems due to turbulent noise and port resonances, which usually "crawl out" in the midrange. Therefore, KEF engineers were faced with a new task: to somehow offset the weaknesses of the phase inverter design while preserving its positive aspects. To find a solution, KEF's R&D department used computational aerodynamics and FEA (finite element analysis) to test many variants of phase inverter systems and settled on the original design. The port has specially shaped tubes at both ends, which eliminates airflow swirls and reduces transverse resonances. The walls of the pipe are made of flexible material to combat longitudinal resonances of the port.

Low-frequency drivers create deep, fast, articulate bass. For the new R Series, KEF has developed woofers that allow for high quality bass reproduction while using smaller drivers, a move that was necessary to make the front panels of the speakers narrower, in line with current design trends. The new woofers have a longer travel, a low-distortion motor system and diaphragms with increased rigidity. As a result, the new R-Series speakers deliver deep, powerful, fast and articulate bass.
