For its part, Bluetooth, which often becomes a bottleneck in the quality of recordings, is implemented here to the maximum. The most productive codecs are supported. In addition, they did not compromise on the choice of components.
First of all, the small size and weight of the device impresses. 27 grams is less than a typical AA battery weighs! This allows you not to worry about convenience during use, for example, in transport, at work, or while jogging or in the gym. The device looks great on a table in your favorite cafe, and it doesn't take up much space in your pocket. After all, its dimensions are only 54 x 34 x 13 mm.
Unlike many competitors on the market, iFi Go Blu does not use a single-chip circuit that combines all the necessary functions. They are simple and unpretentious. But a good implementation with separate Bluetooth, DAC and amplifier circuits allows you to achieve higher sound quality.
That is why three separate sections are used for signal reception, decoding and analog amplification. High-quality components manufactured by Vishay, Murata, TDK, etc. are used in the harness.
The first section - Bluetooth - uses a 4-core Qualcomm QCC5100 chip. Bluetooth version 5.1 has very good connection quality and supports current high-quality formats. It includes, for example, ACC, SBC, aptX, aptX Adaptive, aptX LL, aptX HD, as well as LDAC and HWA/LHDC.
The next section is the DAC. The device uses a 32-bit Cirrus Logic 43131 chip. In conjunction with a specially tuned digital filter to minimize pre-existing interference and phone crosstalk, as well as a precision clocking scheme aimed at eliminating jitter, it is possible to achieve high signal quality.
