HANA SL MK II is an updated version of the iconic S-series cartridge, created for those who seek maximum natural sound and deep emotion from every vinyl record.
Designed by master craftsman Masao Okada-san, this cartridge combines traditional Japanese craftsmanship with modern technology inherited from the flagship HANA models.
A new tapered aluminum cantilever with increased rigidity and reduced mass at the stylus tip provides more accurate micro-detail transmission and improved readout of information from the vinyl channel. The improved cartridge body, modeled after the M series, has a damping elastomer resin coating with a “Soft Feel” effect in matte black and a brass cover with threaded mounting holes - all of which reduce resonances, improve bass and dynamics.
The internal components - the yoke, pole pieces and gold contact pins - are cryogenically treated, which enhances the purity and naturalness of the sound. The magnetic system based on an alnico magnet with a cross-shaped coil wound with high-purity 30-micron copper wire provides reduced moving parts, high resolution and excellent compatibility with most phono preamps.
