This cartridge holds a special place in the brand's catalog - it succeeds the Donatello as a new reference point among affordable MCs, with an updated design, a rethought balance and one clear goal: natural, detailed, smooth sound from any record.
The Da Vinci body is machined from a solid block of 7000 series aluminum alloy, the same aircraft-grade material used in the flagship Gold Note cartridges. Weighing 10g, it provides the necessary structural rigidity and internal damping without overloading the tonearm. The shape is developed using computer simulation: the geometry of the body minimizes parasitic resonances and gives the cantilever the best conditions to work.
The microellipse sharpening is a step forward compared to a conventional ellipse: a smaller radius in the vertical plane ensures more precise contact with the groove walls, especially on the inner tracks of the record, where the geometric requirements for the stylus are the highest. The Da Vinci aluminum cantilever is light and stiff, with minimal inertia, and transmits the movement of the needle to the coil quickly and without distortion. The result: a frequency range of 10–35,000 Hz and channel resolution of over 30 dB.
Da Vinci is an MC cartridge with an output level of 0.4 mV and an impedance of 4 Ohms. This means a clear address: a high-quality MC phono equalizer with an adjustable load, the recommended value of which is 47 Ohms. This configuration gives the generator unit maximum freedom - without compromises in amplification, without loss of quiet details. 2.0 g contact force, 10 g mass - compatibility with most modern tonearms of the middle and upper class.
Da Vinci is a completely new development of Gold Note, presented in 2023. Like all products of the brand, it is made exclusively in Italy, at the production site in Montespertoli near Florence. Each head has a serial number and undergoes individual quality control before shipment.
