Description
Eversolo has built a reputation on streamers, DACs and network amplifiers - the company has rewritten the rules of the game in this niche, just as WiiM did at one time. The logical next step is to complete the system with its own acoustics, which naturally combine with the brand's electronics. Thus appeared the SE100: the first passive bookshelf speakers from Eversolo, built on the proprietary BLACKEDGE CORE platform.
Product information
The SE100 uses a classic two-way speaker configuration with careful phase and time alignment in the crossover. The crossover frequency is set at 2.6 kHz, a point chosen based on extensive listening and measurement to ensure even distribution of energy across the entire frequency range rather than an emphasis on any single band.
High frequencies are reproduced by a 25 mm silk dome tweeter on a powerful neodymium magnet drive - a solution that gives a transparent, smooth response without the harshness or sibilance characteristic of metal domes in this price segment. The mid and low frequencies are handled by a 5.25-inch mid-bass driver with a paper cellulose cone - a material chosen by Eversolo engineers precisely for its natural damping properties, which are important for the purity of the midrange. A high-purity oxygen-free copper voice coil provides fast transient response - the speaker instantly reacts to both subtle nuances and sharp dynamic peaks, while maintaining control over the rhythm.
The SE100 moves away from the usual rectangular shape in favor of a square 1:1 aspect ratio - a solution that makes the speakers perfectly compatible even with sections of modular furniture systems like IKEA Kallax. The high-density MDF cabinet has a proprietary matte "PU starry" finish, and the front-mounted bass reflex makes it easy to place the speakers almost anywhere in the room. Magnetic grilles made of low-diffraction fabric protect the speakers, remaining acoustically "invisible" - no impact on high-frequency detail.
With a sensitivity of 88 dB and a nominal impedance of 4 ohms (minimum 3.2 ohms), the SE100 is well matched to amplifiers with a power of 20 to 100 watts - including Eversolo's own streaming amplifier Play, designed for this type of load. Peak power reaches 180 watts, and the frequency range covers 55 Hz - 20 kHz, so for most rooms a separate subwoofer will not be needed right away.
The SE100 is a natural choice for owners of Eversolo network amplifiers and streamers who want to complete the system with passive speakers from the same brand. But thanks to universal matching with amplifiers from a wide range of manufacturers, the speakers work equally well in systems based on other brands - from classic integrated amplifiers to modern network solutions.
