Meet the cars
There are 35 sound generating machines that cover a wide range of drum and melodic sounds. Some machines have been reimagined from Analog Rytm and Model:Cycles with deeper sound controls for the latter, while others are brand new to the world.
So that you can create and personalize your sound, we've made sure you have a set of parameter controls built specifically for each machine. They allow you to quickly adjust the nature of each type of sound, showing only the relevant parameters. Comprehensive but not overwhelming. Relax with analog or digital overdrive, depending on the tracks you're playing.
Graphics also play a part, with plenty of animated icons that offer visual guidance and added clarity on how each setting affects the sound. After all, tuning shouldn't just be for the ears.
Special effects
Syntakt lets you route any of your synth tracks or external audio sources through the effects block. This gives you analog distortion and filtering, and a couple of LFOs to go to town with. Additionally, you can also trigger delay and reverb as powerful send effects.
And all of the above effects can be sequenced using an FX track. Let them start at the right moment. Add accents and transitions to selected tracks or external audio. Or use it as a master track for dampening and gating effects.
Change the moment
Master an additional trigonometric craft using four modifiers, offering four different levels of expression. Adjust the first two modifiers to provide the desired restart or speed behavior, and use the other two to access the adjustable intensity of the other parameters. They're ready to go no matter what synth you're using.
And the best thing is that they don't just give you the extra pleasure of playing here and now, you can also capture the moment by recording it on the sequencer.
Keys to the city
Syntakt keyboard mode gives you a whole bunch of different scales to play with.
There are some familiar faces and some maybe a little less familiar that you can try out, helping you discover new places and take things to the next level.
Play one octave like a piano keyboard. Or use a fold and lay out a few octaves in front of you.
Deep sound shaping
Syntakt contains many filters and envelopes. All tracks have a multi-mode filter that allows you to emphasize different parts of the sound, and digital tracks can also use a parametric EQ and a baseband filter – an additional filter that gives you even more control over your sound.
Choose from two types of amplitude envelope to define the ideal contour of your sound. Try the ADSR envelope – for your wicked synth lines – or the simpler AHD envelope – perfect for percussive transitions.
All synth tracks have two full-featured LFOs with multiple waveforms and modulation directions. Set your sounds in motion, subtly or dramatically, by rocking the envelope, volume, filter, synth settings, even other LFOs; almost any setting you like. Then redefine space and time with a reverb and delay slice.
Let the song mode sing
Song Mode is a feature that lets you create, edit, and play songs made up of dozens of your own patterns. This makes it an extremely useful feature for all types of scenarios and for all types of artists.
Customize your backing track, freeing up your hands for other great gear. Go beyond the 64-step sequencer. Create entire setlists in one song. And that's just part of what Song Mode has to offer.
Great sequencing
A world-class 64-step sequencer allows you to create dynamic soundscapes, controlling structure and sound to the point that it resembles a musical instrument in itself. Simply hold any step and adjust any parameter on it for a super-fast and detailed way to sequence, or go wild and record your escapades live.
Create your composition one tonal nuance at a time, or record your every turn in real time. Some call it Swedish sequencing. We call this parameter locking.
Syntakt Central Station
If you want to invite your other instruments to Syn City, we welcome them. The MIDI machine can be assigned to any of the 12 synthesizer tracks with four-note polyphony, LFOs, and more.
Syntakt is also Class Compliant ready and capable, meaning it can easily connect to computers, smartphones or tablets for USB audio and MIDI. Connect with ease.
