Each case is meticulously hand-finished to blend seamlessly into your lifestyle - painstakingly sanded, painted with five coats of premium black or white lacquer, then polished to a mirror finish (level 6) - for an uncompromising look in your home.

The Definitive Technology Demand D15 floorstanding speakers feature a 3-way design with a 1" annealed aluminum dome tweeter, 1", 5" midrange driver with BDSS™ suspension, two 5" woofer drivers. inch passive side-firing radiators for full-range, room-filling sound. A complex and well-thought-out design with a bipolar arrangement of passive radiators allows you to produce low extended frequencies from a compact case without the characteristic noise of a phase inverter.

The right tweeters should surpass all others in three characteristics: they should be stiff, light and well damped to minimize the effect of the dome material on high frequency reproduction. Aluminum is inherently stiff and light, satisfying the first two requirements. To achieve the third property, Definitive Technology tweeters undergo an annealing process (heat treatment) to give the desired shape and relieve stress in the material, thereby providing the necessary damping. In addition, the silk suspension additionally emphasizes the advantages of a soft bath.

The aluminum dome tweeter in the Definitive Technology Demand D15 produces a clear and precise high-frequency response, while the 20/20 Wave Alignment Lens™ smooths it out – to improve dispersion and provide a rich and balanced listening experience anywhere in the room. The unique sound signature of the Demand series speakers ensures the elimination of the tweeter away from the center - for a more accurate central stereo image and the elimination of unwanted symmetrical diffraction on the edges of the protective grilles.

The Definitive Technology Demand D15's patented dual-suspension midrange drivers provide great linearity in the operating path and overall performance, resulting in better resolution of the fine details of the midrange compared to other drivers of a similar size. A patented linear response waveguide extends the frequency response both on- and off-axis while improving dispersion – for a more natural midrange tonality and a more accurate soundstage.
