Ptakh

“Ptakh” is an album about the changes and transformations of life during wartime. It brings together compositions written at different times — some of them more than 15 years ago — yet today they have taken on new, at times almost prophetic meanings. Alongside the pain of loss, there remains a belief in the future, in goodness and in light.

The album takes its name from the title track, written to lyrics by Serhiy Zhadan and recorded with him. In this story, the bird is a symbol of hope and freedom: the freedom to move, the right to return home, and the belief that this journey is possible.
