Replacing the PTFE insulation with high performance cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) improves the performance of this already impressive cable. Used in their premium Signature XL cable, cross-linked polyethylene outperformed PTFE in listening tests. Superior isolation reduces interference for a smoother, more natural sound with enhanced detail.

Quality construction with silver plating
The silver conductors are insulated from cross-linked polyethylene and arranged in the form of a spiral pair. Cross-linked polyethylene insulated conductors are held in place by a vibration-damping outer sheath. The use of silver copper gives the sound a more musical balance and, in combination with the cross-linked polyethylene insulation, a more realistic appearance.

Fortunately, many of Chord's speaker cables are also silver-plated, allowing the material to remain consistent throughout the amplifier-to-speaker connection.
