Description
The Chord EpicX 2XLR to 2XLR is an interconnect cable for those who don't want to put up with signal loss on the way from source to amplifier. Designed and hand-crafted in the UK, it embodies decades of Chord engineering expertise.
At the heart of the cable is the proprietary ARAY conductor arrangement technology. The ARAY conductor geometry allows for significantly more detail, dynamics, and more accurate reproduction of individual instrument timbres — and does so with a musical coherence that transforms listening into a truly immersive experience.
Each conductor is made of thick, silver-plated, multi-strand oxygen-free copper, and the XLR design is adapted with an additional conductor for optimal operation in balanced mode. The insulation is made of XLPE (cross-linked polyethylene) — a material that provides minimal mechanical noise and excellent dielectric characteristics.
Neutrik XLR connectors are equipped with ChorAlloy™ coating — Chord’s proprietary multi-layer metal technology. Research has shown that silver coating leaves room for improvement in the area of intermodulation distortion at higher frequencies — and ChorAlloy™ confidently overcomes this threshold, providing an advantage in musical transmission.
A double layer of heavy-duty foil shields the signal from external electromagnetic interference—even in the harsh conditions of today’s home installation.
The EpicX 2XLR to 2XLR is ideal for connecting CD players, streamers, DACs, and preamps that have balanced XLR outputs. Mid-range components are increasingly featuring XLR outputs and the latest high-resolution chipsets—and the level of detail they can deliver is astounding. The EpicX lets you hear it all.
