CXN100 SE Limited Edition Matt Black
Description
There are devices that simply play music. And there are those that bring the soul back to it. The Cambridge Audio CXN100 SE is one of those: a network streamer that transforms a digital stream into a living, surround sound that you want to trust from the first note.
At the heart of the CXN100 SE is the reference ESS ES9028Q2M SABRE32 digital-to-analog converter. This chip is known for its minimal distortion and ultra-wide dynamic range: it extracts from digital recordings the warmth, detail and spaciousness that is usually sought in analog sources. Support for formats up to 32-bit / 384 kHz and DSD256 means that not a single nuance of a studio recording will be left unnoticed.
The fourth generation of the proprietary StreamMagic platform is years of flawless work, polished to a shine. Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect with MQA support, Qobuz, Amazon Music, Deezer, internet radio - all services are available natively, without unnecessary intermediaries. Support for Roon Ready, Apple AirPlay 2 and Google Cast makes the CXN100 SE the center of a multi-room system: music accompanies you in every room without losing a drop of quality.
The main novelty of the SE version is the HDMI eARC port. One cable between the TV and the streamer - and the sound from your favorite TV series, movies or games now passes through your hi-fi system in full resolution. No unnecessary converters and compromises with sound.
The CXN100 SE does not know the word "incompatible". Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA outputs, S/PDIF Coaxial and TOSLINK Optical digital inputs, USB Audio (Type B, Class 2.0), playback from a USB drive - all this is combined with Bluetooth 5.1 aptX HD for wireless connection without loss of quality. Wired network or Wi-Fi? Decide for yourself - the streamer is equally stable in both modes. And the preamplifier mode, activated via the StreamMagic application, turns the CXN100 SE into a full-fledged digital preamp.
A matte black anodized aluminum body with glossy accents, the limited CX Black Edition looks as if it was designed not by engineers, but by jewelers. The large 4.76-inch color display displays album art and VU meters - and this is not just a decoration, but a real dialogue with the music. The tactile volume control completes the feeling of a premium item that is pleasant to hold in your hands.
