Description
There are things that don't just play music—they change the very idea of what home audio can be. The Bang & Olufsen Beosound Premiere is just that. It's not a soundbar in the usual sense. It's a manifesto: a Danish take on what happens when acoustic engineering meets art.
Product information
Inside the Beosound Premiere are ten proprietary speakers, each of which has its own role in building the sound space. Four broadband speakers in the “racetrack” format (102×76 mm) form a dense midrange picture. Four 51 mm full-range speakers are directed forward and to the sides, expanding the stage beyond the boundaries of the case. A separate 38 mm mid-frequency speaker is responsible for the transparency of voice and dialogue. And in the very center is a vertically directed 38 mm radiator that “draws” sound on the ceiling, creating the height that is usually sought in multi-channel systems with separate speakers.
This entire configuration is powered by ten amplifiers with a total power of 580 W.
Premiere’s main technological weapon is its proprietary Wide Stage technology. This is a spatial signal processing algorithm that simulates the presence of additional speakers, expanding the stage far beyond the physical boundaries of the case. The result is not an artificial "surrounding" effect, but a real sense of presence: the sound envelops you from the sides, above, and far away.
Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 support allows you to decode surround tracks in full. And if you want even more, Premiere integrates wirelessly with Beolab and Emerge speakers via the Beolink Surround system, turning your living room into a full-fledged home theater without a single wire.
HDMI eARC connection provides full-fledged surround sound transmission from your TV. For music streaming, AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, Bluetooth 5.4 and the Beolink wireless multi-room system are available. The frequency range from 34 Hz to 23 kHz means that nothing is lost: not the deepest beat of a bass guitar, nor the thinnest overtone of a violin.
Control is via the Bang & Olufsen app or a touch strip on the housing with illuminated presets and an LED volume indicator strip that reflects off the bottom panel.
Beosound Premiere is made of solid aluminum at Factory 5 in Struer, Denmark. The housing is glass-bead sandblasted to give it a matte satin finish that is both pleasant to the touch and to the eye. The speakers are not hidden, but exposed like watch parts through a transparent dial.
The central vertical radiator is covered with an aluminum grille with 1925 perforations - exactly the number that represents the year Bang & Olufsen was founded. A trifle? No. These are the details that make up character.
Available in three colors: natural aluminum, black anthracite and gold. Optionally, a front oak or fabric grille is available for those who prefer a more restrained aesthetic.
