Description
Audiovector QR 5 White Silk is a three-way speaker system with a downwardly directed Q-port phase inverter. Powerful and dynamic bass makes the sound as lively and realistic as possible. The QR5 has exceptionally detailed and comfortable upper frequencies, making it perfect for endlessly long and not exhausting music listening.
The design goal of the QR series has always been to offer the most advanced technology in a perfectly finished and well-proportioned high-end cabinet. The sound is big, bold and dynamic, yet subtle and detailed when needed, and is an excellent solution for all types of music. The QR 5 floorstanding loudspeaker fits well into any home environment, regardless of style. The QR5 is the largest speaker in the QR series and therefore the best in terms of performance. Perfectly detailed and pleasing high frequencies promise endless hours of music enjoyment without fatigue. Powerful and dynamic bass will make any recording sound exciting and realistic. The QR 5 is a three-way speaker with a downward-firing Q-port phase inverter and is a perfect match for its smaller siblings.
Gold Leaf ribbon tweeter
The front panel of the tweeter is made of a single piece of aircraft aluminum and undergoes precision machining and then glass-blasting. After that, its outer part is brushed with a metal brush, providing a beautiful surface texture and titanium-tungsten anodizing, which gives the surface a noble gray hue. The protective rose gold grille plays the role of an S-Stop filter, which prevents sibilance and makes the sound as comfortable as possible.
Proprietary S-Stop filter
In recording studios, this effect is eliminated by installing a so-called pop filter in front of the microphone - a fabric baffle that inhibits the sharp front of the air flow. The developers of the QR series took the same approach and covered the tweeter with a frequent metal mesh. To prevent the mesh from oxidizing, it was gold-plated, hence the name Gold Leaf. The tweeter itself is mounted on a thick aluminum flange that absorbs vibrations.
Pure Piston bass driver with double magnet
The new Audiovector bass radiator operates in piston mode in the range of several octaves and does not have the specific distortions that loudspeakers with aluminum-diamond cones have. This means that the speakers will sound warm, accurate and detailed, while maintaining dynamics and musicality.
New membrane technology
Based on our experience with rigid light- and sound-impermeable diaphragms in SR and R-series speakers, we have developed a new sandwich diaphragm that combines the strength of Aero Space Grade aluminum with the excellent internal damping properties of softer materials. The result is a three-layer sandwich diaphragm with no inherent sound and very low distortion because it operates as a pure piston up to and above its operating range.
