M-DAC+ Black
Description
Digital-to-analog converter. DAC 32-bit ES9018 Saber. Receive and process data with a resolution of up to 32-bit/384 kHz via USB input. Supports DSD and PCM, digital filters. Torroidal transformer with separate circuits for analog and digital signals.
Audiolab M-DAC+ is an improved model of the DAC that was released several years ago and made a triumphant march through the world of audiophiles. The new DAC is based on the same reference 32-bit ES9018 Saber, which is surrounded by custom circuitry. So, it has its own clock generator based on discrete elements, which reduces the jitter level; In addition, there is a time-domain interference isolation circuit. The signal quality after digital-to-analog conversion remains at the highest level thanks to the Class A output stage using JFET transistors.
Capable of accepting and processing data at up to 32-bit/384 kHz resolution via USB input, the Audiolab M-DAC+ DAC is even slightly ahead of high-resolution streaming services, meaning it's ready for the future. In addition, DSD files (DSD64, DSD128 and DSD256) can be played via the USB port, which is an important factor in listening to high-res audio.
Audiolab M-DAC+ carries on board seven options for digital filters for PCM, inherited from the previous model, and 4 additional filters for DSD playback, which allows you to independently optimize not only the noise threshold taking into account the quality of the source file, but also the bandwidth of equipment (amplifiers, acoustic systems, etc.).
The Audiolab M-DAC+ design is based on a toroidal power transformer with multiple windings to separate digital and analog circuits, and the power supply itself is now built into the DAC housing. Thus, crosstalk is minimized, which has a beneficial effect on sound quality.
Peculiarities
The main advantages of the new product, compared to the well-known previous model, are the compactness and versatility of the device. M-DAC+ was assembled, focusing on the wide capabilities of the ESS Sabre32 9018 chip. Innovative switching XLR connectors were introduced - connectors designed for connection to amplifiers, as well as AES/EBU connectors. The compatibility of the Audiolab M-DAC+ DAC with third-party devices is high, which allows you to connect the device to CD/CDR, SACD players without any problems. Playback of mobile content is carried out through the implementation of a Bluetooth module that supports AptX - protocol.
