The player has a reliable design and is equipped with a direct drive, which allows you to slow down the record by hand with its quick subsequent return to the rated speed. The device has a massive chassis damping, which reliably protects it from external vibrations. Such a chassis is an important condition for eliminating the danger of acoustic feedback at low frequencies, which can occur during concert performances.
The Audio-Technica AT-LP140XP player is equipped with a motor with a high starting torque, which also provides almost instant spinning of the disc to the required speed. This model has three disc rotation speeds of 33, 45 and 78 rpm, so it is suitable for playing records of any type. To obtain a constant rotation speed, the player uses quartz stabilization of the frequency of the electrical signal supplied to the motor.
Audio-Technica AT-LP140XP is equipped with a reverse record start button typical of a professional model, as well as smooth speed adjustment. Both of these functions are relatively easy to implement on models with direct drive, which is what made this class of turntables popular among DJs. The turntable is equipped with an aluminum cast support disk with a felt mat. Due to its significant mass, the disk has sufficient inertia for smooth rotation of the record. The turntable is equipped with an S-shaped tonearm with a damped microlift and the ability to adjust the height. The tonearm is equipped with a proprietary MM cartridge with a conical needle and anti-skating. The turntable is equipped with gold-plated RCA jacks for connecting to an external phono equalizer. The player comes with a dust cover and also has a removable backlight lamp for convenient use in low-light conditions.
