MicroLab's versatile 2-octave controller offers high-quality keys, travel-friendly features, powerful software, and a built-in, hidden cable. Music technology pioneers Arturia have announced a new controller keyboard that will excite new users and seasoned pros alike. MicroLab is a small MIDI keyboard with an intelligent design that you can take with you anywhere.
The "Hold" button gives an instant sustain effect, and when pressed together with the "Shift" key, you get access to the "Chord" mode, which allows you to program chords and play them with the touch of one finger.
Opportunities
The rubberized frame protects the MicroLab from bumps and scratches when you're on the go, and it also has a recess that's perfect for a USB cable, making it easy to store or pack away. The MicroLab also features capacious modulation and pitch controls that work just like the touch screens—they also allow you to view and select presets with one touch. You can also quickly switch between MIDI channels by pressing Shift and the channel label keys at the same time.
Form
Arturia designed this controller to help you work, not get in the way. Because the cable is recessed into the housing, you can place the MicroLab close to other equipment in your studio without cables getting in the way.
Its width does not exceed the average width of a table on a train or plane, and the frame does not allow it to slide. The keys are also slightly recessed into the case, which reduces the risk of their damage during transport in a backpack.
