Product information
Step sequencer
In SEQ mode, the pads are responsible for turning on each step of the sequence you are programming. With the help of 16 encoders, the pitch of the tone for the corresponding step is set. 16 user presets let you instantly call up your favorite patterns, while pad scale modes, seq playback and time division functions help control playback in real time.
Add to this the ability to connect via MIDI, or via the USB and CV/GATE interfaces, and you get a sequencer that can be used with any type of equipment, including analog synthesizers, virtual instruments and a variety of MIDI devices.
Percussion controller
16 velocity- and velocity-sensitive pads make BeatStep the ultimate compact percussion instrument. Ultra-sensitive pads will reveal new possibilities of the dynamics of your game. And each of the 16 encoders can be assigned a separate function to control the sounds of your drums in real time.
Standard control panel
BeatStep controller pads can be assigned MIDI CC button functions, or have them send Program and Bank Change messages, or note-on and note-off messages.
With 16 encoders, 16 pads/buttons and 16 presets to save settings, you can come up with many ways to use BeatStep in a live or studio environment. You can play clips in Ableton Live or use the encoders to adjust effects parameters in your favorite DJ application. Transport buttons can serve as MMC controllers or send MIDI CC to start and stop your DAW. It can also serve as a MIDI Clock master or slave to an external clock generator.
