ADAM Audio Sub8 is a mid-range active studio subwoofer designed for use in a variety of studios, including home studios, or as part of a home stereo system. It meets Dolby's home theater requirements and is designed for small spaces up to 20 square meters.
The ADAM Audio Sub8 subwoofer is based on a specially designed 8.5” low-frequency driver with a coated paper cone. Below it is a large bass reflex port, which helps the lower frequencies become even denser and richer. The main control knobs are located on the front panel (this is a volume control from -60 dB to +6 dB and a knob for steplessly selecting the position of the low-pass filter in the range from 50 to 150 Hz). Between them you can see an IR receiver, and the kit includes a remote control, which can also be used to adjust the volume and frequencies. The maximum output power of the built-in amplifier is 160 W RMS.
On the rear panel of the ADAM Audio Sub8 you can find a switch for phase, automatic shutdown after 15 minutes of inactivity and power. In addition, this subwoofer, like all ADAM Audio subwoofers in this series, offers balanced and unbalanced inputs and outputs on XLR and RCA, respectively. Thanks to this, you can connect the device to almost any studio monitor systems to expand the range, or as an LFE channel in surround sound systems.
