Description
The AE 107 speaker system provides sound for the center channel in multi-channel home theater systems and is placed horizontally. As expected for such a function, the first priority is given to the sound intelligibility in the vocal and speech range, plus the presence of a slotted phase inverter allows to support the middle register with clear bass and flexibility in installation.
This speaker can be placed on a shelf, on a hardware rack under the TV or hung on the wall, and its sound characteristics will be stable and independent. The developers paid attention to the construction of speaker cabinets made of MDF boards almost 2 cm thick. The cabinets themselves are prudently reinforced with spacers and perfectly damped, providing accurate sound without coloration.
The second cardinal decision was to equip the speakers with a slotted phase inverter port, which eliminates the problem with the sound due to the turbulence of the outgoing air flow. At the same time, distortions were reduced and the bass became clearer. The port location on the front panel gave a lot of freedom for the speaker installation in the room. All models, except for the subwoofer, are equipped with 110 mm woofers with a rigid anodized aluminum cone, which provides low distortion.
No less attention is paid to the design of the 28 mm tweeter with a fabric membrane and an efficient cooling system. The upper limit of its frequency response reaches 32 kHz, which is relevant for HD audio formats.
