The key to the AE1 Active's success is its unique pure piston ceramic aluminum cone technology. Now in its fifth generation, this 125 mm ceramic cone made of hard-anodized aluminum provides exceptional rigidity at a low weight. This eliminates cone deflection and breakup at frequencies typical of paper and plastic cones. The tweeter is an all-new 27mm metal cone developed by Acoustic Energy that is harmoniously combined with our Wide Dispersion Waveguide Technology (WDT). The result is a perfect integration with the mid/bass driver with an extremely wide and surround sound.
In terms of electronics, the AE1 Active is an all-analog design focused on performance without compromise. This includes wired analog inputs, both balanced XLR and standard RCA, high quality line level power supplies and two 50W Class A/B high performance amplifiers per speaker in pairs.
