The Technics SA-C600 compact network CD receiver was presented at a special press event at CES 2022. The new product will complement the Premium C600 series, which already includes the compact SB-C600 speakers. As a result, according to Technics, the new product will fill “the gap between universal compact speaker systems like the C70MK2 and individual component systems like the C700 and G700 systems.”

The future owner of the SA-C600 has quite varied musical tastes in terms of choosing sources: on the one hand, he is clearly a fan of analog recording, and for this purpose an on-board MM phono preamplifier is provided. On the other hand, the device provides all the advantages of the current “digital” with support for Spotify Connect, Tidal, Deezer, Amazon Music, Chromecast, AirPlay 2 and even MQA decoding.

The digital essence of the SA-C600 continues right down to the all-digital JENO Engine amplification technology, delivering 2 x 60W of power into 4 ohms. At the same time, the developers took care of the sound quality: there are two low-noise power supplies on board (starting with transformers) - separately for the left and right channels. The JENO Engine clock source uses the same noise reduction circuitry as Technics' flagship SL-1000R turntable.

The L/R Custom function allows you to customize the sound of each channel separately. To match the sound to the location of the system, you can choose one of the Space Tune settings - for example, the Corner Shelf option. There are also Free and Wall - the purpose is clear from the names. All this is controlled in the Audio Center application, currently only available for iOS devices.

The operation of the SA-C600 in conjunction with a TV will be simplified by the optical SPDIF input with the function of automatic switching on when a signal source is detected. The system also has a subwoofer output and on-board Internet radio, complemented by DAB and FM.
