A/D Box S2 Phono Black

The Pro-Ject A/D Box S2 Phono is designed to work with MM or MC type pickups, but unlike similar devices in the Box Design series, it has expanded functionality. The device is made in a compact metal case, which reliably protects its circuits from external electrical interference and operates from an external power supply.

Pro-Ject A/D Box S2 Phono is based on an RIAA equalizer circuit designed by the famous audio engineer Sikora, and has minimal noise and distortion. The device circuit is made using surface mounting on precision components and, due to the reduction in the length of audio signal transmission circuits, has very low noise. A button on the back panel of the Pro-Ject A/D Box S2 Phono allows you to select circuit operating modes when connecting MM or MC pickups. In this case, the input impedance (47 kOhm or 100 Ohm, respectively) and gain (60 or 40 dB) change. A pair of gold-plated RCA jacks is designed to feed the linear input of an integrated amplifier or AV receiver.

However, in addition to performing its main functions as a phono stage, the Pro-Ject A/D Box S2 Phono can also be used to digitize analog recordings for subsequent storage in PC memory. Connection to a computer is made via a mini-USB connector, with parameters up to 16 bit / 48 kHz. In this case, you can digitize not only the signal from the phono preamplifier, but also from a linear source, which is connected to the Pro-Ject A/D Box S2 Phono via a 3.5 mm mini-jack connector. The input is selected using a button on the front panel, and there is also a recording level control. Since the phono stage in this model operates continuously when power is applied, the Pro-Ject A/D Box S2 Phono can be used as a standard device in an audio system, using the digitizing function only as needed.

Pro-Ject A/D Box S2 Phono provides high quality sound comparable to that provided by dedicated devices of the same class. This is a good all-rounder with added value from its analogue digitization feature.
